Change is slowly but surely sweeping through the city of correctional education. Standards are being erected and student centered lesson planning is now required. Assessment is more than an TABE entrance exam and 150 hours posttesting. We are now expected to step up to Professional Teaching Standards. The sun is setting on threshold teaching standards of the past. What do you think?

Have no fear!! You actually have everything they are asking for. All we have to do is concentrate on helping each other. This means for those that know be patient with those that don't.

Don't plan and you get failure.
It's wonderful the amount of support the students in your school receive. The teachers are really dedicated to helping the students receive their GEDs, thus giving them an opportunity for success that they might never had had. Sometimes the conditions can be trying, but the difference that you make in the lives of students is immeasurable.
